Doug: Also, at Recording Studio London in the back of the room we have some additional RFZ panels to reduce any flutter echo that might be caused by the reflections from the wood.
Ethan: There's a fair amount of reflecting surface in here. This room is not totally dead, like you get if you slap thin foam all over all the walls. The floor is a nice parquet. The back half of the room is painted cement floor. The walls are mostly wood, and yes, there is a fair amount of surface covered with absorbing panels or diffusors, but it's not a totally dead room. The diffusion in the back also helps keep some wideness, some good wideness to the room. One of the really cool things, Doug, is the row of recessed indirect lighting that goes all the way around the ceiling in both of these rooms. It's electronic fluorescent lighting that's dimmable. In fact, there's dimmers on the wall and Doug can probably dim them down and turn them up. You can get really nice ambience in here.
