Recording Mondos

These are the 2 x 4 foot mondos at Recording Studio London.

This is great because nothing has to be hung on the wall at Recording Studio London. It's absolutely, totally stable. The mondo traps just sit sideways on the floor. It's a perfect place for bass traps because it's a four corner, and because they're so thick, they don't have to be angled and straddling the corner. Just being right at the corner on the floor is a perfect place for bass trapping, and that becomes the foundation of this . . .

Doug: The diffusion.

Ethan: . . . for the diffusion. This total assembly is six feet tall. If somebody has an eight foot ceiling, you could put more diffusors on top, or you could put actually, more mondo traps on top to handle the ceiling corners. Again, in this room the ceiling already has 100% bass absorption because above this fabric is 12 inches thick fiberglass. This is a very common problem in home studios is there's a door in the corner. And people say all the time, how can I put a trap straddling that corner?
